This move is considered due to concerns for his safety after conflicts with fellow inmates, as reported by Daily Mail, citing a source from the musician's circle and penitentiary consultant Sam Mangel.

"There is a real risk of another conflict occurring soon... People are seriously worried about his safety in custody. Nobody wants things to escalate to a point where Diddy suffers serious injuries or, even worse, meets a fatal fate before his release," the source conveyed.

Penitentiary consultant Sam Mangel, whose client is serving time at the same facility as Combs, suggested that the rapper is likely to be moved from Fort Dix prison in the state of New Jersey to another correctional facility. In the United States, his release is scheduled for January 21, 2028.
